TL;DR: Opened but otherwise mint in box condition (complete, never displayed) ACI / Pangaea Gladiator General 1:6 Action Figure Deluxe Version. Up for sale is: An opened but essentially mint in box Pangaea 1/6 scale Gladiator General Deluxe action figure (PG02C). “Pangaea” is just one of several alternative brand names which ACI has released its products under. ACI / Pangaea released three variants of their “Gladiator General” in 2015. These are not officially licensed products but are obviously intended to represent the character of Maximus, the betrayed Roman general who became a champion gladiator portrayed by Russell Crowe in the 2000 historical epic. The “Deluxe” Version (PG02C) being sold here combines most of the accessories included with the “Arena” and “Final Battle” along with instructions on how to interchange the armor pieces so that the same figure can be used to portray Maximus as he first appeared anonymously in “The Battle of Carthage” sequence or wearing the armor he was clad in during his climactic duel with Emperor Commodus. NOTE: The Deluxe version features a “clean” version of the head sculpt and does NOT include the battle-scarred portrait which came with the “Arena” version. (See Pic 18 for a complete list of what is included with this set and Pic 20 to see both the “Arena” and “Final Battle” configurations). This one was opened and inspected after it was received in 2015 but was never displayed with all items remaining in their plastic trays as shipped. It has been stored with care in an air conditioned room in an adult collector’s home until September 2024, when the photographs for this listing were taken. The Gladiator General uses ACI’s “Andrew-X” Medium Build Body with over 30 points of articulation and four pairs of hands (i.e. four left and four right hands). By default, the figure comes wearing most of the “Final Battle” clothing and armor. This includes: a light blue-gray cloth tunic, a leather war skirt, fabric gladiator boots, an embossed hardened leather cuirass, and embossed hardened leather wrist / forearm bracers and greaves (shin guards). Also included are large right and left shoulder pauldrons from the Final Battle set. These can be substituted with a small left shoulder guard with a chain mail piece and a right shoulder strap. These can be combined with an alternate war skirt incorporating chain mail and a left wrist wrap (to replace the left forearm bracer) to recreate the “Arena” look. (You’ll also need to remove the greaves to fully recreate this look.) Finally, the figure includes the spiked gladiator helmet / face mask, a gladius short sword, and a decorated round shield. Instructions on how to do this are included (see Pic 17) Aside from the last two pics which were from taken from the manufacturer’s site to show the two different armor configurations of this Deluxe version), the figure, accessories, and box pictured in the listing are the same exact ones which you will receive. As stated above, it was opened and inspected when it was first received in 2015 and again in September 2024 to photograph for this listing but is otherwise mint in box.
